I don"t know if this was brought up before? in order to get the car started you had to push the clutch all the way to the floor" so just a i went out to Can Tire and bought these sticky rubber stoppers i belive that you can use them on shelving . put them on the upper clutch bracket where it contacts the safety switch and it works no more pushing to the ground""""
i am not a big manual driver but isnt it a good thing that you have to push the clutch in to start the car i mean it is a safety feature. please explain

It's definitely a good idea to have to push the clutch in to start the car. However, on these cars, the position of this safety interlock switch is not adjustable. On my car, I had to really mash the clutch into the floor. Other people have used thicker floor mats and have not been able to start their car. By putting a small spacer on the back of the clutch pedal arm, you can make it so that you don't have to push the pedal through the floor to start it. Also, on mine, it would take a 2x4 or so behind the pedal to hit the switch and have the clutch still engaged. We're only talking about a small adjustment, not enough to defeat the interlock. That would be easier done by jumpering around the switch, which would be a bad idea.
