2003 Vibe - Updating Head Unit HELP!

Post by go49ners »

Just bought a 2003 Pontiac Vibe. I love the car, except for the fact that the CD player doesn't work. I was originally going to purchase another factory 2003 Vibe head unit, but decided I'd rather have ipod integration (without FM transmitter!!!). I am on a tight budget, and I found some after market head units that have AUX and USB inputs as well as a CD player, but I want something that matches the look of the vibe, I hate how after market head units look so out of place. I also haven't been able to find any ipod adapters that plug into the back of the factory head-unit for the 2003 generation. Weird. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the following: -ipod integration (don't need steering wheel control or anything, just want high quality sound) -CD player -something that matches the interior of an 03 Vibe -affordable (under $150)Thanks everyone!

The BEST place to look and purchase is Crutchfeild.com... You DO pay a little bit more through them, but they also give you EVERYTHING you need for the install, besides tools.. (including instructions!) They are also factory authorized for EVERYTHING they sell (not so on Ebay) I always recommend people who are new to car audio to go to Crutchfield.. They are a pleasure to deal with, they have been in business for 15yrs or more.. And they have a wide selection.. Again, you can go cheap, but with all the bennies you get by being under the CF "wing" it's worth the look... check it out, i'm sure they have something perfect for you..

+1 on Crutchfield. They are defintely the way to start out. And like Sublime said, you get everything you need for the install making all of the "Oh crap I need..." a forgotten thing.

They dont have the excellent tech support crutchfield does, but sonic electronics has lower prices on alot of decent head units and they include dash trim as well as wire harnesses and antenna adapters.
