New Spark Plugs!

Post by ~MRVIBE2006~ »

So, with 70,000 miles on the ticker, plus its beginning to run just a little rough even when warmed up, I've decided that a new set of plugs are in order. I just have a few questions (don't worry, this won't take long!):1. What kind/brand should I use and are there better brands out there other than stock?2. Should I install them in a cold engine or drive it around for a bit and let the temp build then install them?3. What's the correct gap for the plugs?4. And finally, whats the correct torque rating once I get them installed (Yes, I do have a torque wrench, a must for the summer/winter tire combo!)?Thank you all in advance!

I went down to Advance on Scatterfield (not sure which side of town you are on) and picked up some Denso Pulse Plugs. There were like 7 or 8 a plug which is probably high, but I wanted to try them. I've definitely liked the outcome.

What kind of "outcome" are we talking about? I'm on the east side of town when I'm not in Kokomo.

Well, I also changed the oil, serpentine belt, ail filter, and cleaned the MAF all the the same time, but overall my MPGs increased some (can't remember how much since that was over the summer), the car ran smoother, it def seemed peppier across the rpm range, and kick down was more responsive. Now I'm not sure exactly how much of that was strickly reliant upon the plugs or simply a combined effort from all the changes.
