WARNING Xenon Store LED light RipOff

Post by Blueridge9 »

Don't get RIPPED OFF like I did!I bought the Pontiac Vibe LED 3rd brake light from Xenon Store online on Dec. 28, 2009 via Paypal for $39.50. I was stunned that they shipped a delicate LED circuit board to me without ANY bubblepack, just in a thin priority mail box with some crumpled newspaper! I have bought books for less than $10 online that were better packaged than this $40.00 purchase. There was no receipt inside either. When I took it to my mechanic he said this is defective/not working and it would not light up. He is very knowledgeable about LEDs and has installed many of them. I regret buying this. Now I am FRUSTRATED and trying to get them to refund my money. Their email says "due to the holidays replys may be slow" and their phone says this number is not in service, try back later".I have contacted paypal to file a dispute.http://thexenonstore.com/3rdledbrake.php

Good luck with PayPal, they are absolutely useless

I went through sorta the same thing a while back, filed a claim with PP. They responded that they are not responsible for the quality of the item, just that you recieved the item. If the guy sent you a flashlight bulb, PP is ok with it.

had to file a dispute with paypal about mine if i remember correctly, recieved it shortly after what seemed like forever...havnt had a problem with it yet knock on wood which reminds me I better go check it, also had difficulty mounting it so all three rows of leds show, ended up putting some double sided tape underneath it to keep it propped up higher. good luck with yours

The bad: Mine arrived this past Wednesday, 01/20/10, after waiting quite a while (about 1 month) and with no communication. This part was certainly disturbing to me. It arrived in exactly the same manner as you described, Blue Ridge, except that mine works. (Try flipping the connector around. Remember, LEDs are polarity sensitive.)What it doesn't do is fit the housing. The board seems to be too big (wide) for some as of yet undetermined reason. I'm pretty sure that even if he/they are going under as a business that I could modify the board to fit in any case.Worse: I wrote Devin and asked what might be the problem. That was Wednesday as well and I am STILL waiting for an answer. This too is disturbing. In defense: In fairness to Devin, he has a cottage industry business that he runs out of his basement. I'm pretty sure, at least the last time I knew, he was working at it alone. He offers these, plus a few other things that he has made deals w/the manufacturer's for the rights to sell on his site and make a small profit from.Perhaps he has family problems (maybe someone is sick, or perhaps he is having marital or financial problems?) or that he is become less-than-enchanted w/his business and what it has brought him? I don't know for sure. The good: I only know that when I bought the one for my Mazda, the shipping was pretty quick (same packaging however) and I had no problems installing it or using it. It still works GREAT after +/-3 yrs of service. Summary: I only hope I can get this straightened out, one way or another. I would love for our Vibe, my wife's car, to have the same level of safety and good looks as the Mazda does.

Still no response from Devin at the Xenon Store. I have a dispute filed with Paypal.I would encourage GenVibers to shop elsewhere.

I am sorry to hear about everyone's hardships, but I can say that mine came shipped properly, installed easily, and works perfectly even over a year later. I did some modification with some insulator foam pieces and that solved a lot in the looks and fitment dept. I mean I did get the first production copy for free so I can't complain too much.

I left my cover off. I love the black backboard, it goes with my car color and looks pretty clean.
