i was just curious if anyone has recovered there headliner in a different fabric/pattern? ive done it in all my vws but now that i have a vibe im gonna tackle this one also. I just wasnt sure if the curve of the roof added any extra complications

I have not, but I've had the same thought (when we bought ours, used, we failed to notice the nice little american flag pin that someone had stuck in the headliner near the window. When I took that down, I did notice the nice l'il cigarette burn that the PO or the dealership used that pin to cover up )And hey, welcome to the forum. I know this is for vibes and all, but you should really put up some VW photos for the few dub junkies that lurk around here

Don't know anything about it... Things to note, rattle can spray glue WILL NOT keep headliner material in place for long.. I wouldn't do it any other way than this...
Depends on what your trying to stick up there... lol Shag carpet sure crappy rattle can glue wouldn't hold.. but he was putting up suede is what was used, and it stuck for over 4 years with out an issue.

I have to do it all over again... lol... I did just re-cover my center arm-rest and put some actual padding under it, so my elbows don't ache after long drives..
Mine serves a dual purpose though, I covered the A/B/C pillars with 1/8" thick closed cell foam first.. With the foam and the shag, it helps quell hard surface reflections for my audio... (i'm way into audio, working on a comp system)
Boy, Sub, your car is nearly shagadelic, baby! Good thing you didn't use the 60s avocado green. How often do you have to vaccum to keep it from matting? Very 'Groovy'.

It's rather easy to take care of... it's the softest stuff you've ever felt.. lol..
