Neon SRT

Post by 03vibedriver »

I was driving my 09 Vibe 2.4 and a Neon SRT pull along side me at a stop light on a four lane highway. Went the light changed I stood on the accelerator and the Neon pulled away like I was standing still. I feels bad to be owned by a Neon!

Don't feel bad. Those SRT-4's are pretty quick. Unless you have a JATO rocket strapped to your roof, your vibe didn't stand a chance.

They seem to turn in to Mr. Rogers when I'm next to 'em on my cycle.

If you have power windows, you still have more power than the Neon since the back seat passengers still have to crank the things themselves. All that power up front under the hood and none in the back doors! So next time show off your power when you're at the light by rolling down your back windows and make the neon driver jealous.

yes, found that very strange... no power windows, not even an option. wth??and ya, SRT4 = TURBO. unless you got one on your vibe, you're no match. I like them SRT4's up here... they sure think they're fast.... til they stare at our taillights down the 1320. LOL

at the Summer Solstice Extreme Drag Racing event, we had 3 SRT4's that participated. they signed up for the 13 sec index but after about 6-7 test n tune runs, they quickly changed theirs to 14 sec index. LOL. sucks to realize your car isn't the fast3rer. no pics, but I definitely blew past them by usually .5-1 sec. Even one of the local guys we know had a stg 2 SRT4 and could only run high 13's (and he isn't new to drag racing).

SRT4 owners don't really like it when anything can keep up with them LOL

Quote, originally posted by 13Vibe03 »ThatThose times sound about right for a stock or slightly modded SRT4. At least one model year, if not two, didn't come equipped with an LSD. My turbo Escort GT had an open differential so I know they are really hard to launch without one. They are fast from a roll but without an LSD, they can't launch well without spinning and losing time.My Escort GT's 1/4 mile speed showed low 14 times when I wasn't launching or shifting hard. I didn't want to break an axle or damage the transmission with an 850 mile drive the next day to interview for a new job. LOLSRT4s can be 350+ HP cars with the right parts, but so could my Escort GT without heavily building the engine. The highest HP I ever heard about for a Protege/Escort was 545 FWHP.Can you believe SRT4 owners really don't like it when an Escort can keep up with them? LOL! Then again, nobody likes to be matched or beaten by an Escort which is the main reason I modified it! Total sleeper!as I said previously, fastest SRT4 I've seen here was 13.6 or so...

Hey I have full respect for all cars. Its just the owners of srt4's seem to be thinking they are above all. If a escort could make times as fast or faster than me...id prolly be their friend :D I just love hanging out with all kinds of car people as long as they respect other cars, we are cool.

That's me to, if someone can take me (and they have) I give them much respect.. I'm a "car" guy though, not a "subaru" guy, though I love my Subie, I love everything just the same.. I'm not a big fan of Ford products, but that doesn't mean I don't give the respect to those that are deserving. I miss my Subie. I miss my Jeep. I don't miss the '88 Chev Astro Van that my parents gave to me to drive through high school.Quote, originally posted by northvibe »Its just the owners of srt4's seem to be thinking they are above all. There are a few SRT4's around here and the owners think the same thing. One was in a class with me last semester. I thought I was going to kill the #%@(&*#.

(that was one of 4 pics it took to cover the whole area..)these might look famillarIf you notice, AJ was parket to a R32 Skyline...!!!!!!
