After lots of money spent and time waiting at tire and auto repair shops. I'm just about done upgrading the suspension. I've should have done this a long time ago. With the combination of 18" wheels, lowering springs and strut tower bar the ride comfort is so so much better. People that ride with me now automatically notices the difference in ride comfort (even the ladies ) Then at the drop of a hat while on the freeway I can hit curves high speeds never breaking the line. Even the overall accleration is better and the low end torque become more efficent. I hit the max speed on I-75 just hours after getting the tower bar installed doing about 120mph and it felt like 80mph. All I can say is if you have the money and time to spend on getting the suspension re-done by all means GO FOR IT!!! You car will look and feel better not to mention having it ready to rumble when the Supercharger drops....(Deciated to Triton GT)
I have the factory 17 inch wheel/tire package with the 215 Dunlop 9000's. My car seemed to float a bit at higher speeds 80+mph, well, I put a STB and TRD lowering springs on and the car feels solid as a rock at higher speeds considering the low curb weight and broad cross-wind section due to the design of the car. I'm very happy with my suspension mods as well. i can effortlessly cruise at 80-130mph with no problems with directional stability.I have good experience too as I've seen 174mph in my C5 and it's solid as a rock at high speeds.
