Anyone come up with brighter backup lighting?

Anyone come up with brighter backup lighting?

Post by vibolista »

The Vibe has nice little backup lights, but not much output. Has anyone found a way to brighter nighttime reversing?

add a set of driving lights to the rear that come on when the car is put in to reverse or wire them to a switch and use them as needed when people ride behind you with highbeams on HAHAHAHA

I've found the "hyper white" ricer bulbs sold at Autozone to provide a nice boost in light output for them.. Or, follow Keiths guide..lol..

I put in a set of PIAA. Cool looking blue bulbs and nice white light but no improvement in visibility.

I put in Sylvania Silverstar bulbs in my back-up lights 3 years ago. They are brighter but my tint makes it not as bright from the inside..lol.

I'll do some hunting around for brighter bulbs. The aux driving lights installed in the back is a nice idea, especially when brights are following too closely. Nice touch!! They still have those million candlepower spots for sale somewhere, right? Sometimes you guys are just a little bit evil, but the ideas are so tempting....Thanks

i had a friend who custom fitted a set of 4100k hids in the reverse lights of his 07 camry hybrid. he also hooked it up to a separate switch to turn them on by themselves...i think it's pretty cool lol
