New PC

Post by kunkstyle »

And it's not even a pc. After almost throwing mine out the window this morning I drove down to the Apple store and bought an iMac.10 years ago I wouldn't have believed anyone if they told me I'd own a mac someday...

first off congrats!!! I love the new imac's :Dsecondly, if you compare GOOD hardware spec for spec the mac will be right near the same price. I priced out my Lenovo work laptop to a macbook and the macbook was 100 cheaper. For the top end mac's yes they will be slightly more though. But their overall quality imo is well worth it.Now get used to awesome software for free! :D

I diagree with keithvibe, you're not a traitor... Smart move to go over to the Mac. The quality is worth it. And not to mention a much better OS.

But I'm okay with that so far. Used it a little bit last night while I was transferring some of my files over and I'm pretty happy with it. No blue screen of death yet, so all is well.Quote, originally posted by northvibe »if you compare GOOD hardware spec for spec the mac will be right near the same price.I had priced out a pretty decent pc to piece together, and it came up about $300 less, but that didn't include the monitor. So the cost wasn't really too far off.

Wow - I can't believe the customer service through the Apple store. I was transferring all my files over the day after I bought the iMac, and noticed a dead pixel on the screen at eye level. I was extremely annoyed, as it's the first LCD I've had with this problem. Called apple, they said bring it in. I didn't get my hopes up, b/c I've never seen anywhere that warranties for dead pixels unless it's a whole cluster. So I take it down to the apple store, the tech guy boots it up. Asks if I have any information on here I needed, to which I say no, to which he replies "Good. Because you're getting a new mac."Couldn't believe it. He said that it can be fixed, but it takes up to 4 days, so it'd be better for me if he just replaced it.

That's pretty awesome. Apple is pretty good about taking care of their customers.
