engine tranny flush

Post by zdkaiser »

i have about 31K miles on my 2007 automatic, base Vibe. Should I need the tranny fluid to be changed/flushed soon (or ever)? The car is running well, but I have been noticing a bit of a kick at lower speeds. I know others have been mentioning this "kick" in their posts. Something about all the torque on this little engine is in first/second gear. I don't think the gears are slipping. Anyhoo... i know the owners manual says I will never need to change the fluid, unless I am driving in some extreme climates. My vibe was bought used in WI, where is spent most of its life, and seems to be running very well now. I am assuming this kick is typical in these little cars, and i am not one to mash on the gas pedal. Any info would be a plus. Ohh yeah. I checked the tranny fluid after running it for a while the other day, it is pink, but with a little bit of a dark look to it. I don't think it is gritty, and i didn't happen to smell any sort of burnt smell. My warranty is going to be running out soon, so i thought i would get some advice.i apologize for the length of this post.

The fluid is probably fine at only 31K miles. You could just do a drain and refill, instead of a full flush, if you felt like doing something. The tranny has a drain plug, it's as easy as changing the engine oil.I haven't driven an auto Vibe much, so I don't know what to say about the "kick"Quote, originally posted by zdkaiser »i apologize for the length of this post.
