Dealer Ad in today's Columbus, OH newspaper - Haydocy PontiacNew 2008 Pontiac Vibe EPA HWY 32 mpg $15,980MSRP $17,245 Automatic. AC & More[That reflects a $765 dlr discount and the $500 '09 rebate]OF COURSE it is a 2009When I checked the inventory at Pontiac.com it says that vehicle is a 2.4 L manual, a/c, 1sb pfd pkg$15,990 plus $760 options plus $585 dest = $17,245.Doesn't make sense to me. Is it an honest error or is it bait and switch.

I always wondered about those "conquest" rebates - seems like maybe they have a limited number and only offer them when they think it is necessary to close a deal.

I am guessing that the current rebate ends at midnight 8-19-08. If your's isn;t in by then - too bad. But usually they are extended - and often increased. However the Vibe already is a 2009 model - not a 2008 that is soon to be replaced by a 2009. My guess is that the $500 will be extended.

According to the Pontiac website, there is a $1000 Cash Allowance available nationally through 8/19. When I click on the model overview, it goes to the 2009 Vibe.

Just found out The 09 Vibe is just A $500.00 ("customer cash") rebate unless you own a non Gm car. Then you get another $500.00 off. The $500. started on Aug 1st and is good til Aug 19th
you think thats good yesterday we had one dodge dealer here have a 65% off MSRP on all stock, i am not kidding. but there was one catch any dealer added options, you had to pay. then also tt&l
I received the $500 rebate and a $2000 customer loyalty rebate through GMAC. I was a current leasee whose lease was ending. I told GMAC that I was looking at other "non-GM" dealers. That is when I was told of the incentive. I received this incentive along with a 5.9%APR.
I just need to vent here...... I took delivery of my Vibe on 7/30 because the dealer asked me to by that date! I was transferring money around and placed a deposit to hold the vehicle for me until my out of state check would clear the bank. When I picked up my car I asked if there where any rebates or incentives coming up for August. I was told "No, everyone wants the Vibe already because of it's gas mileage. After reading this post I called GM/Pontiac and discovered that in my area the $500 rebate for the 2009 models actually started on 7/31! They also told me that I was ineligible for the rebate because it hadn't started yet when I took possession of the car. I reminded them that I was asked to pick it up by then by the dealer, otherwise I would have waited until 8/1 anyhow.I called the dealer and griped about it. They connected me to my salesman who said he would have to check into it and call me back. He did call me back and said that he would write it up and send a rebate request into GM on my behalf. He also told me it would take a long time for them to hear from GM about it. I asked him if he thought I had a good chance of getting it. He replied, "Fifty-fifty."I can't help but wonder if they knew about the rebate coming? Any thoughts? I also didn't qualify for the "conquest rebate" since I traded in a 1995 Honda Accord. To get that $500 rebate, the vehicle has to be 1999 or younger. I'm pissed about it, the extra $500 would sure help with paying the taxes!

My dealer told me tonight that on the 20th everyone gets the "employee price" plus the $500 rebate stays on. Went ahead and picked up my GT at those terms today. Can't wait to get the windows done. Got a road trip coming up in less than a month, can't wait on that either.
I called a Pontiac dealer here and was told they will be offering employee pricing on Wed. He also said that they wouldn't know about the $500 rebate on top of that until then too. Sounds like you got a great deal!
