A245E vs. A246E Transmission

Post by Petrucci914 »

Ok.....I am told we have the A246E transmission. A few sites show that we have the A245E transmission, which was the transmission on the Corolla 93-02. The reason I ask is that TransGo has a new Reprogramming Kit for tha A245E transmission....http://www.transgo.com/rpg_toyota.phpMore talk on it here:http://www.9thgencorolla.com/f...75619Here it shows that the 93-07 Corolla had the A245E, and the 03-07 FWD Matrix had either the A246E or U240E:http://transtec.com/selector_guide/Toyota.htmAlphabet souppppppppppppppppppp

One of the main differences as I recall is that in the A245E the boost pressure was still provided by a cable from the throttle to the VB unlike the A246E which uses a pressure control solenoid for this. I happen to have the GM trans rebuild manual for 2000 which also has the A245E in there (for the Prizm) but there is not much info on the TCM.Since this is a reprogramming kit for that TCM no idea what it will do in a Vibe - may not work. You can contact and ask them though.
