Post by B4snake »

I'm looking to any and all cheap mods you can do with an '03 Vibe... by cheap I mean I have under $150 to spend...Also, I was wondering if anyone had mounted a roof mounted light bar to their vibe?Thanks...

Short Ram Air Intake- $180Window Tint- $100-$250Hyper Ground Wires- $100 (Or make your own for $20)Motor Mounts- $30Lowering Springs- $150-$210Racing Pedals- $20-$50There are tons of mods that you can do for under $200. Those that I listed are just a few. I suggest going with an air intake if your going to spend around $150. Lots of power, great sound, better mileage, and not a lot of $$.

also, check the for sale threads since a lot of folks will put mods up for sale. cheaper and most of the time, just as good as new.

I would start off with the cold air intake. You don't have to spend large cash for these.http://www.cosmoracing.com/productlist.asp?cid=148or for a short ramhttp://www.cosmoracing.com/productlist.asp?cid=129It would be your best bang for the buck.

Welcome to GenVibe! I don't recall anyone on here that has added a light bar to their Vibe's roof.As far a cheap mods, I'm assuming you have a Base model Vibe since you did not specify. Here are some cheap mods you can do.-Throttle body Rotor: $30 (increases throttle response)-Helix Throttle Body Spacer: $75 (Increases low rpm torque)-K&N High Flow OEM Air Filter: $40 (increases air flow to the engine)-TB Coolant bypass: Free (Keeps TB cooler, increasing performance)-OEM Airbox Snorkel Removal: Free (increases air flow to the engine)-OEM Airbox White Plastic Flow Screen Removal: Free (increases air flow to the engine)

You could also get the eBay intake as well, they are really cheap-but I'm not sure about quality seeing that I have a Cosmo.B/C,where can he get(wink, wink)the throttle rotor,I can't seem to locate the matrix or Vibe ones.

I have a TRD cai and throttle body rotor, both helped and were fairly cheap. $110 for a used TRD cai and $30 for the TB rotor. Also you can get your exhaust headers ported and TB ported for around $100 each (headers are like $120, TB is like $80) but to get the best out of those you need a tune.

Good call on the pricing people! It is easy to do things cheap yet in a quality fashion as long as your thrifty and use the net to your advantage Also look into DIY stuff cause that brings the most satisfaction. You need to plan out what you wanna do, there is so much. I personally prefer a mix when working on a car.Exterior InteriorSpeed/PowerStereoAutoXLoads of decisions to make! Happy Modding!

When I get time this summer, Im putting in a laptop I have with a 5" lcd (for the time being) and GPS, because i get lost a lot :/. Then hopefully that will get connected audiowise to the head unit. I would also like to do the bluetooth diy to the head unit, so when i get a new phone with blue tooth i can use my car to talk :D

waveresponder, you could try mounting something like these (in link) in area circled. if you figure out how to wire them and a switch...and mount the lights securelyhttp://www.autoanything.com/li....aspx
