My Vibe is down.....Again

Post by CountryVibe »

Well for the 3rd time in less then a year the Vibe has transmission problems again this time it had to be towed. Was driving fine on the highway until i had to stop at a light, when I start to move again their was a crunching sound and then the front in felt like it was trying to rip off. I think the output shaft shattered or most of the gears did, sounded like metal being crushed in a metal barrel. this stinks

no... it's just out of warranty it's a 43k miles It had 5 gears replaced at 23k in JuneEdit: Oh I forgot the best part I was coming back from ordering new rims for the car when this happened. After it happened I had to drive back in to Dothan to cancel the order they seemed pissed because I had spend about an hour there trying to find the rims I wanted for the car the first two I choose where discontinued.OH... and I had a tooth abscess after it happen this has not been my day at ALLNew trany is going to cost me 900 with 17k miles on it and 350-400 for the install I am hoping to have it back by sat or Mon.

The new gears had a 12mo/12,000 mile warranty at a minimum. For some reason, I was thinking power train is 60mo/60,000 miles...I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Dame. You truly have been having a bad day. Hope who ever did the transmission before is cutting you a break on the price because they failed to catch worn parts as they were fixing the transmission before.congrats on the new rims if only for a breaf moment... the time will come again when you can find a new set of shoes.

there was a poping after they rebuilt going in to 4th when I took it back they said it was normal it wasn't it the dealer just didn't want to tear apart the trany againIt never wanted to go in to reverse it was always a problem with the trany even after the 2 rebuilds
