Ok, "Gosh" and "darn" weren't the exact words i used ...but you get the picture.Really slippery today and when somebody decided to make the left infront of the 18 wheeler driving in front of me...well the 18 wheeler had to stop...which meant i had to stop.next thing i know i'm tapping his steel bar at about 2 km/h. So nothing on the surface...no cracking, grill not broken, headlights still good. But the pontiac symbol was pushed back and now the hood sits about 1/2" higher than usual (gap over headlights)It's all covered in snow right now and i"ll look at it when i get home tonight.Anybody have a similar occurrence and wants to calm me down a bit before i really look into it later today? Could it be a matter of pulling it back out and maybe replacing a couple of clips?

crawled under the car last night to take a good look.nowhere near as bad as i originally thought!there is a tower with a lip under each headlight fixture and the front bumper has a loop which goes over this lip in both locations. The driver's side loop is have broken off and now sitting ontop of the lip, forcing the bumper to sit a little higher than normal up against the bottom of the headlight.I tried prying it with my bare hands but it is in SUCH an annoying spot to get to...if i removed the headlight it would be dead simple...but that would involve removing the battery too. So i'll try to either brute force it or cut off the half snapped off piece and just let it go. It isn't a 'snap on' piece or clamp...it's simply a locater loop which slides onto the metal lip.I took some pictures but they're on the camera at home. I'll post them tonight to show more details.Total damage: a snapped plastic loop, a 2" crack in the plastic just below the driver's headlight. and maybe...a slight bend in my hood as the driver's side sits about 1/8" higher than the quarter panel and just doesn't look perfect. I just wonder if relieving the upward force explained above will allow that side to settle a small amount and thus allow the hood to sit a little lower.vibe took a bit of a knock and came out rather well!so no body shop for me...
