GM6094M oil spec-what is it?

I have been trying to research the GM6094 spec to assure the oil I am using is correct. I have been using synthetic oil and have only found a couple that list this spec on the bottle. I was thinking of using Supertech synthetic which I believe is produced by Quaker state, however I don't see this spec on the bottle. Help me anyone?

Thanks Ragingfish and djb383. Looks like all the oils in the list you sent comply with the GM6094, if I read this correctly. Is that your take on it ragingfish?

Wallyworld ST Synthetic, at least on the west coast, is made by WPP (Warren Performance Products). I'm on my third run of it and I've yet to notice a significant difference between it and M1 or PP. My next run of ST Synthetic will be 5K, after which I'll send off a sample for analysis and get some performance numbers.As for which oils meet the GM/GF-4 standard, just about any SL/SM rated oil with an API starburst. It would be pretty much impossible to put the "wrong" oil in this engine, short of using a straight 30w mineral oil.

Thanks Cougar Vibe. I have used both M1 and currently using PP. Keep me posted on the ST from Wallyworld. Would WPP produce anything I would be familiar with in the Midwest? I have been told Quaker State produces the ST oils. If anyone knows different please advise.

With WPP, all I've ever heard is that they blend and bottle oils for Walmart; I suspect they probably also make some discount oils for automotive stores (ie, "Coastal" for AutoZone, etc.). I do know that the Wallyworld dino oils are from different manufacturers based upon geography; but I believe the ST Synthetic is made exclusively by WPP for all Walmarts. However, I've only bought this oil in Maryland and Washington State...so it may be different in other places. The easiest way to check it is to look on the bottom of the jug for the letters "WPP." Also, you might want to try BITOG (Goggle it) and do some searching...I now this particular topic has been discussed several times.

It was based out of corpus christi texas. IIRC, however, they eventually merged with el paso energy corp. I don't know if EPEC still produces products under the coastal brand though. Nor do I know if the "coastal" brand found in the consumer market was ever even related to the coastal corporation.
