Radio Display: "NOT FOUND"

Post by josholiver1 »

I recently put in a new Sony HU and it was great except for the radio reception..so in the meen time i dicided to put in my old HU to get out a cd i forgot and anyway i hooked it up but when i whent to search for a station it whent through all of the stations and then came back to the station i had it on before and said "not found", even though i belive the antena is hooked up right cuz i can manualy tune to a station and it sounds fine. Also when i touched the Old HU a fuzzy noise came from the speakers..so did i skrew-up somin in the HU?

There's some features on these radios I never figured out. Like TRAF. supposed to do something, I read the manual, seems like I understand, but it never seems to do anything. Then there's the PROG TYPE stuff. Perhaps one of those things was active.Or maybe the antenna connector was close but not fully inserted

so if TRAF or a specific prog type was selected and you searched, but there were no signals meeting that criteria, then it might run the full cycle and come back and say "not found" That wouldn't explain the hum on touch problem though

Yeah, the touching it thing sounds like there's probably something wrong internally.. couldn't tell you what, though.

The touching thing stoped, my XM was mounted to close to the unit, i put in the center counsel and now it works fine. But the P-type and Traf is all fine, now today it would go all the way through and stop on 94.1 but i had my XM on and that has a strong signal and that is 88.1 it passed that and 1077 the bay is really strong and it passed that. but when i manually do it it comes in GREAT. So im really confused, when i first took the changer out i took a wrench and for some stupid reason though it twisted out becasue it was so hard to pull out but then i got it, but the funny thing is my Aftermarket radio did the same thing, you could maualy tune it but if it tryed to search on its own it found nothing...mabie ill get lucky and the tommarow it will find another station! Cuz you know its 6-6-06 mabie my radios cursed!

When i hooked they sony HU i just first pluged the antenna into the back of the HU, the Radio reception didnt even come in so i then took it back out and hooked up a black wire from the sony HU that had a U shaped copper piece and it fit over the antenna by the HU, the radio reception was fine parked, but when i started to drive the signal started to break-up so i got PO'ed and took it out and put the old HU back in but then some how that didnt work like it did before! AH!-thanx for ur reponces!
