Changed out the factory continentals with 15,000 miles on them. I thought they were poor tires, and was right. The new bfg's handle and ride much better than the stock tires. They also look better, even though I went with 60's instead of 55's, they make the car look much better also. More fun to drive now.
The last new 2004 Vibe bought in Sumter, SC. (Dec 04)

Quote, originally posted by rubberman »Your speedo will be out a bit(Slow) http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.htmlDoes anyone know if MPG will increase? The taller tires will be like taller gear, right? Since it's only 14mm overall taller it shouldn't casue the engine to work harder, right? It's still shorter than if we were to go with 17" wheel and tire.
2004 Vibe, Auto Trans. Built Sept 2003. Date in service May 2004. Sold May 2006.
Does the cornering suffer because ofthe additional height. Is the ride a little softer than the stock Conti's.Want to replace with something that does not remove kidney stones!!Thanks for any wisdom you can pass on.Walter
your speedo will NOT be slow. Because most of these Vibes speedos read 7 to 10% high. YES...checked it many times through construction zones. Check if your non-GT Vibe turns 75mph @ 3000rpm on an AWD and just a hair below that on a base.(2940). Or check against a measured mile marker. Typical Japan instruments, making you think you are going faster than for real. Many have noticed this.
2005 AWD PlatinumAlloys, Moon & TunesPower group...just enough to be fun
I bought a set of Nokian WR in this size for winter and didn't notice any loss of power. I only payed $240.00 brand new so I couldn't resist. That's half price.
