Exhaust Cut-Out?

Post by VibeGriff »

Has anyone put an exhaust cut out on their Vibe? Anyone know how a 1ZZ-FE sounds without an exhaust? I was jsut thinking it would be great to get an electrically contorled one and be able to open it up and have a free flowing exhaust at any time. I know you loose a little torque if it is wide open, but some can be open only a little to all the way.

MadBill has a cut-out on his Vibe. It is manually controlled. With it open he has dual exhaust with most of it coming out of the open pipe of course. With it closed the the stock muffler handles the exhaust. It sounds pretty good actually for blasting around but for highway use the drone gets a bit annoying. If you want I could email him and get him to reply to your question, he's not on Genvibe much anymore.

Did I see the MadBill logo lighting up the skies of Gotham City? As Sunny says, I bypassed just the main muffler with my manual valve. It sounds not bad, a little louder than a full aftermarket system, but a bit harsh and raspy. I may swap the stock resonator for a glasspack of some sort.
