Oops!

Post by ColonelPanic »

Ahh, tis great, I wash the Vibe today and as I am drying it off, I stopped to check the progress all those rock chips on the hood are making. I guess I need to paint over them, there are a few too many rusting... But then, I look over at the edge of the fender and yow!Pretty cool eh? I'm enjoying the new look... Nothing completes an already horrid paint job like a touch of careless transmission replacing mechanic! There once was a time that somebody would be paying dearly for even 1/4 of this amount of damage, yet now I don't seem to care... What's up with dat? heheheMaybe I should go back and complain? I wish they would have scraped the hood all up though, the paint on it is absolute crap. That fender was one of the few spots on the car that actually had a passable paint job.

Ouch! Well the good news in that situation is that you might end up having to have the hood redone too in order to get the fender to match. Well, that's provided they do anything. I would definitely complain though. Between that and the fluid all over under your hood. Good grief. Even when you get something fixed, something goes wrong. Poor guy!

that sucks... go back to the dealer or else it will happen to someone else. don't let them walk all over you. I can just hear it now, "why, no sir we didn't do that. you didn't notice it or say anything when you accepted the vehicle after the repair were done. its rock chips, your air deflector causes the rocks to hit right in that area instead of the front of the hood."

Yeah definitely go back CP, that is uncalled for! I have had so much yard damage or technician damage over the years, I trust no one now and have gotten into the habit before I leave the shop(s) I do a complete walk around the vehicle. For example a car we no longer have, Belle Tire broke off one of the rims center caps, never told me but before I drove off the lot I caught it. Henderson glass scraped top corner of the fender on the Vibe a couple mills while replacing a windshield. Caught that too! The shop ordered and paid for a bottle of touch up paint.

Even though it sucks, it's a small price to pay for a free tranny and labor.
