My wife found this great deal at a Habitat for Humanity surplus store, it is an Electrolux vacuum cleaner for $5. It has a bunch of really nice attachments and a power head for carpets. Best of all it has the most suction of any vacuum I have ever used.I know...pretty sad getting excited over a vacuum.

A vacuum cleaner for $5.00? That's hella cheap! I wonder if there are any Habitat for Humanity surplus stores around here...

There is nothing wrong with getting all excited about that particular vacuum. That is the best damn vacuum you'll ever use. Mom and dad still have one, it's as old as I am, and still is going strong. It was expensive too, I think it was in the $1,000 neighborhood when they bought it, if I remember what the folks said correctly.I drug that thing between the house and garage many a' time, so I could go vacuum the cars out. I have to say that is the greatest vacuum to use on a car. Tough little boogers too. I remember standing on top of the thing as a kid... Hell, I even ran over the hose once with mom's Olds Ninety Eight and the hose only ended up being slightly flattened. It kept on suckin'. There was a sticker on mom's that described a 10 year warranty on the motor...The old Electrolux continues to provide excellent automotive duty. She ended up with a vacuum that looks like a modern version of the old Electrolux. I don't know how well it works compared to the old... Like everything else these days, it's not as sturdy as the old, but it doesn't seem to be as cheap and flimsy as a lot of vacuums are nowadays. Hang on to that thing. It's probably not that far from the truth that the vacuum will outlive most of us.
