Hello,Just joined the forum as a member tonight! I currently don't own a Vibe but I did own one a few years ago. My Vibe was purchased VERY early in their production. In fact my 2003 model was actually purchased in June of 2002 and must have been one of the "first few" off the assembly line.It was a FWD version, auto trans, moon and tunes, ABS, 16" alloys, power windows and locks, and was the "shadow" color (dark gray) with the unpainted lower plastic.Anyway, I liked the Vibe but had some "issues" that eventually caused me to dump the thing after barely a year of ownership. Things like a water leak from the roof rack, a suspension "lead' or "pull" that was never corrected after numerous alignments, various plastic interior pieces rattling like crazy, a front door speaker that literally came loose from its mounting, and finally a deer ran into the side causing enough damage that the entire drivers side had to be bumped out and painted. All of this in less than a year! But I guess I'm a glutten for punishment because I am now thinking about buying one again as my next vehicle. I simply miss the great versitallity of the interior space and the good gas milage (compared to my current 2003 Grand Am GT). Therefore I decided to join this forum and explore the possibilities that the Vibe has to offer in terms of performance and the ownership experience now that the Vibe has been in production for awhile. So off I go to explore the forum...............
Hey welcome! I got my Vibe the same time you did. I was told that I was one of the first 5 sold in Wisconsin. Haven't ha any of the problems you had, though. (Knock wood!!)

I bought mine(2003) for the Gas milage and the utility, for the price it is well constructed and I have been getting 30mpg in town! I can haul an 8ft piece of wood or put my bike in it(or on the roof). I love it for what it is, a nice little economical utitilty.

welcome aboard! i've only had my vibe about 6 months, so i can't speak for long term reliability, but i haven't had any problems along the lines of what you're mentioning. the versatility of the vehicle is one of the main reasons i purchased it, and i definitely haven't been disappointed.
Welcome to the Club! Sorry to hear you had soo many issues with your first Vibe. Production started in January of '02, so it wouldn't necessarily have one of the first ones, but within the first few months. You've definitely come to the right place if you're thinking about getting another one.
by now all the kinks and twiches should've been worked out. on the other hand. a new redesigned vibe is just on the horizon. if i were on your shoes. i'd wait a year and see what's up.
