Cobalt, particularly the LS if you're not interested in the high performance of the SS. A lot of bang for your buck there. And for not much longer, you can find a very nicely equipped '05 LS at this point for the $16-17 range.HHR, if you can find one. For under $21K you've got tons of equipment and are sitting on heated leather. Not bad. Not fast from what I've read, and those with the larger engine do have a thirst for premimum fuel though. A nice interior though. All in all, this is a Vibe with GM parts. I have a few other vehicles in mind, such as one that I am more than likely going to end up with, which is in the $20-22K range, but I won't bother to mention them as I'll probably get flamed for bringing them up...

(removed)! Yep, that's mah baby... Some day. Then there are the Elantra GT and the Tibby, decent cars for the money. Insurance was going to eat me alive on the Tiburon through. For dirt cheap transportation, the new Rio and upcoming Hyundai Accent look interesting... A 5-door rio w/ auto gets 38 on the highway, not bad... Pretty decent amount of safety equipment standard too.

Blah, nothing wrong with a taxi cab. Not a ford fan so I wouldn't go for a Taurus or Sable... But with the new '06 Impala, I could live with. I was checking them out last time I was at the dealer. $21K-ish to start out. Bench seat and all. heh! I just have a thing for cars that everyone thinks would be not so exciting to drive.

I am actually thinking about decking out an 06 Civic Coupe atm, for the same price as a base vibe I can get power everything etc.Another one on my list is the new 06 Eclipse, wow! but the good version (200+ hp) is out of my price range ) Ah well! lol. Of course is push comes to shove there is always a stock (removed) Vibe GT with no options. As soon as I get my current car sold, I'll have a $4,500 downpayment... yay!

This thing has AARP written all over it!No wonder they have 4 grand cash back.Lets see now, the smell of ben gay and moth balls, mixed with the sound of grandma's knitting needles rolling around on the floor, and about as much level on a hottie scale as rosie odonnel in spandex??Uh......no! Or, you go this way, and no one gives you the "Does your Grandma know you have her car out this late?" look.WARNING: The views in this post contain extreme sarcasm and are not intended to offend the makers of the Mercury Sable or their intended victims (new owners). This message furnished by Depends undergarments. Depends: Official sponsors of the Mercury Sable high performance shoot out.

HAHAHH you know id get a mazda 3, but when i was going to get a new car a 4 door sedan was nice, the sable was big and roomy plus had a TON of features and they are cheap slightly used as they are going to stop making them. the mazda 3 used is still a little to much for me and not as loaded, but then gas mileage came into effect, v6's just dont get what 4 bangers do. man those mazda's are sexy little things.

I am glad you can take a little ribbin' I am not surprised by the cost difference thing. Like I said Mazda just would NOT deal on the 3 when I looked at them, even with my factory discount (pre employer price copy cat sale). I did a comparison on mazdausa.com and the sable is not much bigger at all. The pricing thing did not match up with the figures I had though. Hmmmm

the sable has lots of leg room in the rear seat and TONS or trunk space. lol yea i take lots of heat on this site for liking fords whatever hhahhah its all good. the mazda 6 is a platform just a tiny bit smaller than the sable/taurus and the new ford replacement fusion is on th mazda 6 platform. you know that the mazda 6 s has the ford duratec engine right but with new headers and vvt so it has a extra 20 hp. but with the new mazda 6 and 3 AWD turbo's coming out...i would way rather get one of those :D
