Pics of my naked (de-badged) Vibe

Post by djpositivek »

Well I removed the badges from my new Vibe last night. Kinda looks funny. I think I'll get used to it. Nice clean look and easier to wax too. Hopefully I can afford to get the windows tinted soon.Took a little longer than I thought since I didn't have fishing line and the floss kept breaking. I only managed to get the dart off and the "e" on the back before having to drive out to Wal-mart and get some cheapo fishing line. For awhile there, I was driving a "Vib" After that things were easier although it took some time to get all the goop off. Tried some Bug and Tar remover but that didn't work well so I took out the Goo Gone and that worked well combined with some elbow grease. I'm happy with the results, you would never even know there were badges there. I waxed the car today and looks great. My Wife asked why I was removing the badges. She thought it was a strange thing to do to a new car Anybody else's spouse question why you would do such a thing ? heheAnyway here are a few pictures. I've reduced the file size now so they are much smaller and dial-up friendly.Pretty stock looking for now. Oh well, what can you do ? New House last Nov. & Baby on the way not to mention the new car payment we just took on.

That's the very first thing I do whenever I purchase a new vehicle. Same reason as you...a lot easier to wax and gives it a "cleaner, sleek" look.

Yeah the floss would just snap. Although it left my hands smelling minty fresh

Oh well! lol!If the wife don't wax it - she can go make you a "samich" for your work. (ducks and heads for cover.... )Seriously, though - it's a great way to smooth out the look of the car and it makes waxing it so much easier.
