Eeyowch!

Post by Herb »

I was standing between the driver door and my Vibe while waiting for some friends at the airport, tired of waiting I decided to go in to look for them. So I activate the power windows to roll them up.As I was rolling the driver side window up, an old lady starts coming down the sidewalk so I use my right hand to grab the top of the door to pull it closer to me, and just then the window bit into the tip of my thumb. EeYOUCH!Somehow my thumb popped out but man is it sore!So word of advice, never close your power windows unless you're sitting in your seat.

I hate it when stuff like that happens. It's like falling on ice in the winter. My frst reaction is to look around to check if anyone saw me do it. it's a good thing that cars don't have one touch auto up on the power windows. I thougt about making one for my moonroof, but I know if I did, sooner or later, it would come back and bite me.

That sounds like something I'd do, always injuring myself in stupid ways.

This one time I was sitting in my car and my brother (who I was in an argument with at the time) came over and tried to talk to me while I was busy reading something.Well I didn't notice that he was leaning in on the passenger side waiting for a response when I started to close my window (still looking at what I was reading and totally ignoring him) and I ended up closing it on him with his head and part of his left arm and shoulder in my car! I was like "oh my god!!"Good thing I didn't close it up to the point where it was starting to hurt him. I had to lower the window for him to free himself.I felt really bad afterwards!Yeah... sometimes power windows aren't a good thing.

Haven't closed the windows up on my fingers yet, but I did let the moonroof grab hold of 'em once. The car I'm probably going to end up getting once the Vibe is traded in will actually have auto up and down windows, that's gonna be interesting. I'll be testing the "pinch protection" feature for sure.... heh! I tend to inflict injury on myself quite often.
