Pressure washed keyless entry!

Post by ColonelPanic »

This is just bizarre! I washed the Vibe tonight twice actually. The first time I pulled the Vibe into the wash bay and washed it off manually... Then, I went through the automatic to get it even cleaner. The automatic has a massive blow dry thingy, the type that has the deflector that comes down from the top and hovers an inch or two above the car and moves up as you drive forward. As I approached the end of the line, I heard this big clunk coming from the roof. Heard it again and then saw a set of car keys fly off and hit the ground!Oops, it would see at some point in time, I had put my keys on the roof. I haven't seen this set for a couple days now so they may have been up there for a while. Oddly enough, the remote still works fine, even after being blasted with high pressure water.

Last week I was swimming with my daughter. After about an hour or so, I relized my keys were in my pocket. They are water proof upto at least 6 feet.I was amazed it still worked.

Doh!! Even if it did not work right away, usually if taken apart and dried out it will work again.

and before this you had a thread about leaving the car running while you went shopping so the AC could try to keep up. Face it man, nobody is going to steal your car. You can stop trying to make it easy for them, because it just isn't going to work. Also, now that you have documented your theft risk enhancement efforts, insurance probably won't pay if you could get it stolen. You're just going to have to find another solution.

Judging by this story ColonelPanic maybe some of those problems with your car are not it's fault. LOL J/K dude.

Yes, I am short. And usually, the roof isn't my biggest concern. I've gotta stand on something to clean the roof, so I usually say forget about it and just half-(removed) wash the roof. Joatmon, you've got a good point. I have seen the error in my ways! I'll quit trying to get it stolen, because we all know how rotten my luck is. Somebody will end up stealing it, part the damn thing and rip the remainder to shreds, THEN it will turn up. Redlava, so you're saying that the majority of my Vizzle's issues exist between the steering wheel and driver's seat? Probably.
