In regards to the folding outside rearview mirrors. As we all may know......space is very limited over there (Japan)....and the majority of all their garages are very narrow. Thus the need for folding mirrors. I wonder if they are power folding. Hmmm.... I wish they were available here too!

Pretty cool! Will these be sold in the US, or are they getting shipped to Japan? Since there is a cover on the roof in the pictures, does it have the same roof rack system as the Vibe?
Shadow Vibe - two tone (almost no need for the monotone in this color IMHO) - slate interior - power package - moon and tunes - abs - 16" aluminum wheels - and the GD on the radio! http://www.cardomain.com/id/db_vibe

If you look closely at one of the shots of the rear of the Voltz, you can see the outline of the roof rack through the plastic covering [below]. See the attached image for another Voltz shot from a Japanese website.

If the garages are so narrow that they have to fold the mirrors how do they open the doors to get out of the car in the garage?

However, the US does have its share of narrow back roads and parking lots/decks.Overall, it still would be nice to have the Vibe/Matrix offered with folding mirrors as a convenience for those "just in case" situations.

Big American cars are too hard to drive and park. Space is at a premium there.I still would like folding mirrors here.
The liftgate handle is also color matched instead of the plastic that we have. If the Toyota badge is only stuck on the handle, I would love to get one to get rid of the 'Pontiac' across the back of mine.

My monotone Vibe has the liftgate handle color matched. I want the color matched folding side mirrors on the Voltz, though. I wonder if any Neptune colored ones might sneak through PA? I'd swap them with the black ones on my Vibe. I think the only Voltz's I'm gonna see here in PA are going to be on the internet, though. Ironic how the Toyota version (Matrix) is sold in the US, but the Pontiac version (Voltz) will be sold in Japan. How did that happen?? And how different is the Voltz interior from a Vibe's?

Wow, no rear defroster button and no radio. Life in Japan must be great.

That radio looks pretty cool, actually. A radio is an option in Japan? Lol. Looks like the mystery 3rd button on the dash has a funtion on the Voltz, I wonder what it is? And the side mirrors might be power folding ones, it looks like an extra button is up there to the right of the L/R switch. I want those aluminum pedals and the chrome look trim rings around the speaker covers on the front doors. I don't want those reddish seats, though. And I can't imagine what it would be like having to shift with my left hand--and I'm pretty ambidexterous!

As for the mystery 3rd button on the dash :From the pictures I've seen on some Japanese sites it appears the rear window defrost button takes the top location and the A/C and Recirc buttons move down.I had not noticed the extra button by the mirror controls - good catch! I can't tell what it's label indicates so who knows - anybody from NUMMI on here??As for the pedals and chrome rings on the speakers covers - this is a picture of one of the concept cars, not a production car. Maybe they'll eventually show up available for us.What REALLY surprises me is that nobody here has mentioned the factory tinted rear windows!! I also like the side marker light on the front fender. Apparently Mazda has noticed how well they look as they added one to the Protege5 this year. Maybe Pontiac will pick up on this too.
I went wandering around the voltz webiste - sure I can't read any of it but there is some neat stuff to "see" there. This voltz has a lot of accesories - 4 different kinds of cargo mats, we get one choice! Has anyone watched the video/comercial? http://www.toyota.co.jp/Showroom/All_to ... tv_cf.html I thought it was pretty neat.
