celica gt 140 hp engine????

hey i was wondering if the 1zz engine in the base vibe is the same engine that is in the celica gt with the 140 hp? if it is what is making the extra 10 hp.would love to finf out..amybe get and extra 10 hp out of the vibe and really not have to to do modding.lol

Maybe the weight to power ratio, smaller car + lighter weight = more power? Less restrictions?

Could be a number of small things:1. Sometimes manufactures like to list slight differences to show placement (Like the Celica is above the Matrix) but the power is actually the same.2. More likely there is probably a different intake setup, perhaps freer breathing on the Celica, you know a more direct route to the intake.3. Less restrictive exhaust.I don't know for sure maybe the Matrix owners know, or check with the guys at http://www.monkeywrenchracing.com

Like I have stated many many times, the Celica/Matrix/Corolla/Vibe all have ths same horsepower. And as SCVibe just mentioned, the reason the Corolla/Vibe/Matrix are rated lower is because of increase sales of the Celica. Inder

not sure if u are true, but the celica is rated at 140 hp at 6400 rpm, not 6000

so if they are the same hp, in the vibe and celica.....what is the correct hp 130 or 140?????do we have 130 hp vibes or 140 hp vibes.lol
