Believe it or not, they're the same as the stock: 113db.However, the dual tone resonates better, and carries better, making it seem significantly louder...

The horn is actually a little higher pitched than I originally thought.However, when you are out in front of it, it is "Hella" Loud! *rimshot*I'll try to get a small video up of just how these horns sound in the next couple days :D

The Dual FIAMM "Blasters" I installed are horn loaded and have a similar sound to my old Ranger. A lot more beefy than the stock horn and also plenty loud... maybe just not as nice as the Hellas though.$24.98 @ AutoZone.Dave

FINALLY got my new Hellas from Griot's Garage...installed and work PERFECTLY!Yay, I finally have a GOOD horn again!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

just have to say i finally put my hella dual supertone in. holy sh*t!!!! i am 100% happy with it. it actually was very very very easy with the help of ragingfish's walkthru(thanks dude!). its soooo much better this way! when i installed it, i drove around for about 10 mins just honking, i got my manhood back finally!!!

I'm getting a set of horns from a 1993 Buick Roadmaster that a freind is parting out. If you've never heard these, they sound like a freight train!!

I have them in one of my meet videos.San Diego Matrix MeetRight-click, save as...Fast fwd to the 6:50 mark and turn it up! You'll hear these horns in this order:1. Hella's (Italy)2. Hella's (India)3. Awesome walkthrough Mike, Kudos to you!! Saved me a ton of time getting on Dealerworld to get the GM method....Installed my '93 Buick Roadmaster horns today!!! Can you say tugboat?

This forum is great! After reading several posts, I installed a pair of Fiaam Freeway Blasters using a separate relay activated by the origional horn wire. I mounted the horns at the origional location with a longer bolt. There is a threaded bolt hole on the cover above the radiator that I used to re-mount the origional horn which is also powered by the relay. The sound is much louder and very distinctive with three notes.

here are my fiaam duals out of a junked red tbird.thougha bout onyl doing one of em, but they make such a nice two tone sound together.used the stock dangle and the two way backet came witht he horns.

I mounted a pair of Fiam Freeway Blasters the same way on my 2005 Vibe. If you notice the hole on the top of the radiator cover just to the right of the horns ( the left side of the car), it is tapped and I used a metric bolt to mount the origional horn there. I now have a three tone horn that sounds great and really gets attention if someone tries to crowd my space or cut me off. I used a 30 amp relay with separate inline fuses to power each horn direct from the battery. that way if one horn fails, I still have two operating horns. I activate the relay with the origional factory fused horn wire.

I installed on my 2007 Vibe horns (high and low tones) from old 1987 Chevy Caprice. Very nice loud sound and easy to install without drilling etc. as shown on the photo.

Yesterday was unusually warm weather condition to work outside (73F was in New York!), just took them off the shelf in my garage and decided to give 'em a try. Those honkers are loud! Now, to take them down and paint, nay, too lazy!Regards,George

Nice Job. I mounted my fiam Freeway Blasters (130 Decibels each) on the origional bolt. I used a 30 Amp relay activated by the origional horn wire. I also mounted the origional horn facing down using the metric threaded hole next to the yellow caution sticker on top of the radiator cover. All three horns are fed by the relay. It sounds great with the three notes.

Relay is a good idea. I don't know what is the original horn relay in the Vibe load capabilities and was afraid to overload contacts (works so far). But installing relay you need additional +12V wire (fused?) to power 3 horns up through relay contacts. Would be interesting to see where you connected relay to +12V. Did you install additional fuse?I am sure 3 horns give hell of a sound!

I used a 30 amp fuse inline with a 12 guage wire to connect the relay to the positive terminal of the battery. I connected the ground terminal of the relay to a ground source. I tucked and tie wrapped the relay between the left side of the car and the battery. I connected three separate 14 guage wires, each with a 10 amp fuse to the high amperage output terminal of the relay and ran one of those wires to each horn. Some relays have two output terminals labeled 87 and 87A. I then ran extension wire using a blade connector inserted in the origional horn connection from the origional horn wire back to the proper relay terminal so that the horn button on the steering wheel would activate the relay which would supply the power to the horns. I surrounded all wires running between the horns and the relay with a spiral plastic conduit to avoid any chaffing.The wire that operates the origional horn is too small to carry enough current to operate multiple horns. In addition the vibe relay is very small and I don't know if it has enough amperage capacity for multiple horns. the origional Vibe horn relay and horn wire have enough capacity to operate the 30 amp relay without over heating the wire and or blowing the Vibe horn fuse.The Fiam Freeway Blasters instructions recommend a 10 amp fuse for each horn installation. I doubt that the origional Vibe horn draws more than 1 or 2 amps. I probably went overboard fusing each horn separately but at least the origiional horn wire will not melt and if one horn fails I still have two other operational horns. (as a pilot, I believe in redundancy)

Man, you did a great job! You're absolutely right, original vibe horn relay is protected by only 10 amps fuse (still OK so far in my installation though) which tells me that contacts are for about 10-15 amps only. I didn't measure as yet how many amps my horns draw, but this thin wire to original horn works I guess like a resistor limiting current in the circuit. This should lower the horns sound output. I'll consider to install additional relay similar to yours, it's a good idea. Thanks.Regards,George

To make photos visible in the text you need to place them somewhere on the Internet and provide a link, which needs to be placed between attributes [img][/img], there is a button on the reply screen for them. I use http://www.photobucket.com, it's free and allows direct linking, so you can use your photos on any forum. When you have your photo posted somewhere just right-click on it, select from the menu "copy image location" option and left-click on it, then put your cursor between [img][/img], right-click, select "paste" and left-click on "paste". Finally installing my hella supertones today... had a question:One thing I didn't see in the instructions was what size drill bit/bolt you use for the second horn. Anyone know what size the current bolt is that holds the factory horn on? Don't feel like going through the process of taking the grilles out, checking the bolt size, and putting it all back together to pick up one bolt from the hardware store. If anyone remembers it would be greatly appreciated Otherwise, the instructions look pretty straight forward, thanks ragingfish!

you could use any size bolt you have laying around. I think i use a 5/16bolt and nut

Here, try this....BTW: Pins 85 and 86 are interchangeable. Do not use pin 87a (usually the one in the middle) if you have a five pin relay.

well, to kind of ruin part of my surprise for the illinois meet i changed my horn this past friday to this: http://www.harborfreight.com/c...40134it was actually really easy and i only needed to change 1 wire. i didn't use their relay, i am using the stock one. i basically just removed the old horn and put the compressor in its place. although, you do need to up the fuse from a 10Amp to a 30amp. still working as far as i know, i'm not driving around honking at people just to honk and i haven't had a reason to honk except on friday.
