Gettin' some new rims!

Post by 5lbsofswisscheese »

Here's the obligatory I'm gettin' new rims thread!I'm going to the local Discount Tire, and have the tire choices narrowed down to Kumho Ecsta MX and Fuzion Zri. I'm almost definitely going to do the Fuzion tires. I'm throw some wheels into the mix too, and my tire choice depends on wether the Ecstas or the Fuzions are cheaper from them.I need to call Discount Tire and get the weights on some of these wheels, but so far these are the top 5. Keep in mind they're going on a metallic burnt orange ("Fusion") Pontiac Vibe.Enkei 5+:http://www.discounttiredirect....5-100Enkei RS5 (19.8 lbs):http://www.enkei.com/PerfSpecPAGES/rs5Specs.htmlEnkei RSF2 (also 19.8 lbs):http://www.enkei.com/PerfSpecPAGES/rsf-2Specs.htmlMB Motoring Rev:http://www.discounttiredirect....5-100Rage Breaker:http://www.discounttiredirect....5-100I'll probably make up my mind after I find out how much the other three weigh, and go haggle with them in the morning. But first I ought to get some sleep.

I like the RSF-2 the best. My friends got a set of 18 RSF-2s on his Saturn along with his tint and pearl white paint it looks gorgeous!

Those RS5's are my favorite. Then again I like to keep it simple.

You know what. I like the RS5's, but the only thing I don't like is that so many people have those wheels. It's not even funny. That wheel is real nice, but I would like to get somethin differentInder

I'm going with the Enkei 5+. The RS5s are being discontinued, it seems, and the other two wheels were freaking heavy. It was a real tough call between the 5+ and the RSF-2, but what did it was the center cap. I just don't like that metal cone with the tiny gold enkei logo on it. The 5+ has a more normal center cap.

I have to admit they're all pretty nice-looking. Enkei makes some great looking wheels, which was why there were three of them on my list. The other two were cheapie store brand wheels that I thought looked good, too. Truth be told, the 5+ is also a Discount Tire-only wheel, at least in the USA. But it's still an Enkei. My Enkei 5 Plusses come in tomorrow or Tuesday. I'll get pics sometime after I vote and wash the car.

I just got back from Discount Tire! It's all cloudy out and my car needs a bath from the rain and mud the past few days, but check this out:

You can't really tell in the pictures, but the sides of the spokes and the rim of the wheel are painted silver, while the faces of the spokes are machined. Here's a close-up on the car:

Very nice! Those were the first wheels I was looking at getting for mine. The only thing I didn't like is that they only come in 17" and I wanted 18's.I went with Mille Miglia EV-R. Here is a pic of mine:

Those are a good choice, too. But I suspect they're out of my price range.I can see the painted calipers nice and clear on your ride. As visible as they are on mine now, I really want to get them painted, too. That greenish-gray just isn't attractive.
