I don't see the Vibe on there. Looking through the site linked at the bottom of the article, the Vibe has better than average theft rates. As long as it's not there, I'm happy. ^_^Do insurance companies give discounts for car alarms?

Hm. All right, I guess it's a worthy investment then...Thanks. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't bother... They're ignored anyway. The theft-deterrent steering column lock is probably more effective anyway...

Very interesting... I looked at the chart showing the ratings for various station wagons.http://www.iihs.org/vehicle_ra...n.htmThe Vibe has significantly different ratings than does the Matrix.Inury/Collision/TheftPontiac Vibe 91/99/47Toyota Matrix 131/112/92I wonder what makes the Matrix have "substantially worse than average" injury ratings versus the Vibe's "average?" Not that big of a difference with the collision ratings, but the Vibe really smokes the Matrix when it comes to theft. Only thing I can think of is the fact that the Matirx probably sells more than the Vibe - at least around here that's the case, seems to be a 10:1 Matrix/Vibe ratio. So, more on the road = more accidents, more injuries due to accidents, and more stolen vehicles... I don't know, rather interesting numbers considering they are the same cars.

Matrix gets stolen more then the vibe probably because there are more aftermarket parts for those Trixs so they seem more "appealing" to a car thief as opposed to our "accessory-less" Vibes haha. IMO

Back when I had to take Drivers Education classes, the vehicles we had were two Ford Taurus' and one Pontiac Grand Am. The class lasted about a month, and each time we took a Taurus, it had to be taken back within two days for fixing. The Grand Am worked perfectly, all the way to the end. We kept trying the Taurus when it was supposedly fixed, but it either redeveloped the problem or developed a new one. We kept going back to it because it was a bigger car, more comfortable for four to five people, and everyone in the classed like how the Taurus looked better (the Grand Am was older and purple), so each time it was reported fixed, they elected to go pick it up...
