Hi Everyone. Im new to this forum and im glad I found it. I have a 2004 Vibe and I have quiet a bit of dings on the side moldings. I have the unfortunate circumstance of living at an aparptment complex where no one cares about anyone else property, that includes cars. I want to see about getting the side moldings, but I cant seem to find where to buy them. I looked at the Ultimate Pontiac Parts List post, but appearently im looking at the wrong section or something, cause I cant find them. I have a blue vibe. Can anyone help me out with a link. Also, is this something I would be able to do one my own, or would I need to have it professionally done? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
are you talking the unpainted plastic moldings on the TwoTone Vibe, which the plastic is grey??? check out http://www.gmpartsdirect.com if that is the case.oops, just checked, they dont have them. sorry. I think someone said that they could get them from the dealer????
I too am interested in replacing one section of my car. I accidently 'kissed' a Highlander a few months ago. Trivial discolored scrape on my molding; ~$600 damage on the Highlander (no dents)! 'preciate it if someone could give us a clue how we can easily replace w/o having the dealer do it.
No, im not talking about the two tone part. I dont have the two tone model. I will take a picture of the part im talking about and post it. It might not be right away, but I will do it as soon as I get a chance.
He is talking about the moldings halfway up the door.At the Michigan meet, Gm said they made a new one that doesnt ding or chip as easy.He also said that Nick would supply us with the new parts numbers.Nick, It has been a long wait since the meet, Could you check and see if they have the new part numbers yet! Thanks for any help!
He didn't mention a TSB, He just said they made the parts and were waiting for the part numbers. He actully said the part number they used is different from the one we will use. what ever that meant!
Mine will be for sale next week. Taking them off and filling the holes for the clean look, so don't need them. Mine are silver and off an 05 if that matters the car is new and doesn't have 500 miles on it and has not been into a parking lot yet.

Side moldings should be cheap and easily replaceable by the car owner! If they're not, then other than appearance, they're not really adding anything to your car, since it might as well be the ding in the door panel itself rather than the molding.
