TYPE-R means FAST! I believe Acura started it with an Integra "TYPE-R" years ago. Since then, I've seen TYPE-R badges on everything, including CAVALIERS.I love some of the rice around here... Smashed up primer-colored body panels, busted out lights, cracked windshields with "euro-style" single wiper, different color side skirts falling off, two (sometimes more!) types of wheels, hideous spoilers, etc. I can't say that these cars are a "work in progress" since it seems they don't bother to finish them in the first place. Occasionally, you can spot a job done right that may halfway look decent, but for the rest - ugh. But, to each their own, I suppose. If it looks cool to them, well...

Putting "TYPE R" on anything these days is automaticly making it rice unless its original from the manufacture.Like Pontiac Sunfire GT... I saw one the other day that was the base Sunfire with GTR on the side... Like that sticker made it special. My GT could still have kicked its (removed) and it was only a GT!I know a guy with a Cavafire... He and his buddy swapped front ends so he has a Cavalier car with a sunfire front end. And the other guy has a Sunfire with the cavalier front end. People walk by admiring the body kits and then take a step back cause here on this 1998 Sunfire GT is a cavalier front end. Looks good actually. My buddy Dave's nice family car.

Pretty tasteful compared to some of the posts in this thread! Late model Civic with all the decals on the doors (mostly hidden behind the mailbox in this pic) and of course, the wing, riding on white (yeccccch!) 18"(?) wheels. Didn't actually hear the fart-can exhaust, so I don't know if it's modded or not.

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
"Type R" Was introduced by Honda in Japan for the Honda Integra in 1995. It came to the USA in 97. The Type-R was a race bred version of the already popular Integra known to many. Horsepower, SAE net 195 hp @ 8000 rpm; Torque, SAE net 130 lbs-ft @ 7500.Since then the "Type R" has been used for the Civic, Accord, NSX. Even Subaru used the Type R badge on a few Imprezzas. So yes, a "real" Type R is fast.Nissan on the other hand has GT-R badge (used for the Skyline) started in 1989. Then they have the SE-R which for a long time didn't pass emissions in the USA.

And found this one at the same mall on the same day at the same time. We have a larger Mexican population in this area, and this vehicle is their style. In Iowa we call this "spanish rice."
Not officially a ricer, but definitely a head-turner:Houston is unofficially the Art Car Capital of the World...we have an annual parade and even have a museum:http://www.artcars.com/http://www.artca ... .htmlMaybe I should start a new thread...

They all seem to be drift cars, with the exception of the few vans and strange exhaust...i wouldn't mess with most of them!

DO NOT ADJUST THE COLOR ON YOUR SET! I'm unexplainably attracted and repulsed by the paint scheme on this baby. When I first saw it, I thought the whole body had oxidized.1 of 3:
Thats a high dollar paint job for such a POS. The paint on the car is worth more than the entire vehicle itself. I like that previous one. A red Civic (?) I hate when they put the front facia on, but leave the side skirts and rear alone. If you are gonna put on a body kit at least spend a little money and match the paint, don't mix and match pieces, and do it all. In for a penny in for a pound.
Wow... For a minute there, I thought I had a magnet next to my monitor... lolOh, how I wish I could have got a picture of this Tercel I saw earlier today... Had some fancy wheels, an orange paint job, super-dark tint, and - best of all...Had this stick-on rectangular chrome thingy that had these two tiny simulated exhaust pipes sticking out - mounted on the side of the back bumper. That's classy.
