Vibe GT won't start - Need diagrams/instructions to replace starter

My son has the Vibe GT in Virginia and told me a month ago that occasionally the starter sounded like it was missing (plunger or relay?). Today he called and said he killed the car and now it won't start at all. All the gauges are on, lights are bright, and it's a pretty new battery. Anyway, school is expensive and I need to walk him through removal of the starter so he can have it tested. Anyone have a link to diagrams or instructions for locating and removing the starter on these? Simple testing procedures would be good too for checking the relay (where is?), solenoid (where is?), then starter (where is?). Thanks in advance.

The
starter relay in on the top side of the under dash fuse block, you should be able to access it by pulling out that small storage bin left of the steering wheel (below the mirror/dimmer control)

Good luck! This forum is amazingly helpful, especially for a Vibe driver on a budget. Tell your son to set himself up an account and the folks here can usually help out with almost any troubleshooting or DIY projects he may want to tackle. I can't even tell you how much money this site has saved me just in simple procedures like DIY brake jobs, changing tranny fluid, changing the rear wiper and on to slightly tougher stuff like rebuilding a brake caliper.
