Possibly selling a terrific 2007

Post by Kimlaw36 »

Lost on where to put this. I am thinking of selling a 2007 that I have had since it had 9000 miles on it and 2008. It is the BEST car I have ever owned costing me $526 in repairs to date It has close to 150k miles, I keep Lucas in the oil and in the transmission and have since 120k. I also put Lucas gas treatment in the tank once a month. I am in the KC area..the body and interior are above decent. What price is good selling it outright? It will be hard to let this car go. I have a very unhealthy obsession with Vigo Vibe. Thoughts? Runs GREAT! No issues that I know of. I had a diagnostic on it about a year ago and it came up clean.

I got my 2007 three years ago in Denver, with 149,000 miles on it, for $3,300. There was some minor damage (mirror and wheel cover, $50 worth) and no maintenance records. Any in your area on Craigslist? Last I looked a few weeks ago there were a few in Denver, mostly with way more miles and kind of beat up. I remember one like you're describing for the mid $3,000 range.

Do you have a reason for selling? Based on what you described, I would hang onto it as it's a good backup car, first car for a child or grandchild, etc.

I too am wondering why you are looking to sell it. I hope that the circumstances are good, rather than hardship

My daughter's grandmother just bought her a 2020 Corolla for college. I have a Camry. We call the Vibe, Viggo. Viggo turned this family from a Honda house to a Toyota house. Viggo is the best man I have ever known, haha! I will cry when he drives off, but it is time. The body is in great shape but a bit of paint that is peeling on the front bumper thanks to a detail guy buffing too hard. The interior has gone through kids and a dog, but no tears, or rips, just a couple of slight stains. I would love for this car to go to someone who appreciates the Vibe. I am thinking $3000. Any takers??? My brother in law works for Goodyear and will vouch for the car to 100K miles, after that he turned me over to another mechanic in town who will vouch for Viggo's care and maintenance. Impeccable service records.

Sounds like you'd be lucky to get anything for a car that old with that many miles. Just to help out some I guess I could give you $1,000 for it, maybe $1,500 if the tires are good. :)

It would sell in Toronto Canada for exactly $4000 Canadian dollars.
