What product to prevent door rubber seals and engine hoses from drying and cracking

Post by Vinlandr »

Was busy this mornign looking for some product to clean and or protect the rubber seals found around windows and door and also for the engine hoses.I got some Meguiar for the tire (rubber) but I am not sure if it would be a good idea to use that. What are you using ?

I use Mother's Interior Protectant. I wipe off the excess though so the seals, hoses, etc. don't get that greasy feeling.

Meguiar's Natural Shine. I use it on everything you named. Tires, hoses, seals. You name it. Never too greasy, never too glossy, always the right amount of shine. I work it into a soft cloth rag, for a more uniform shine. Spraying gets everywhere!

A can of silicone spray and a rag. It is cheap and effective. Turtle Wax Ice Total Interior would probably work too. Anything with a lot of silicone in it would probably be good for rubber.

+1 for 303. IF you go to a boat store they actually sell it in wipe form now (much like armor junk).

+1!Save your money on expensive name brand products you don't need.silicon spray on a rag has been the std for many years now and I don't think they will improve upon it any time soon.
