I have a 2009 Vibe that did not come with factory roof racks. Pontiac does not sell the rack as an accessory.Does anyone know if the Matrix rack, which is offered as an accessory by Toyota, will fit the Vibe?
The Martix roof rack bolt holes are in exactly the same place as the Vibe bolt holes, 09-10 models. + Toyota roof racks cost half of what the GM ones are (here anyways).
Thanks. I actually contacted both dealers, the Pontiac dealer was able to sell me a new rack, but at a replacement price which totalled like $650! (According to Toyota, the MSRP installed by the dealer is $350. Once again, the imports kick our butts.) The toyota dealer however, wouldn't even order me a rack saying, they won't install one on a non-toyota. Finally, I contacted toyota and asked them if the racks were the same size; they gave be a bs answer about how they "do not recommend or assist with the installation of our accessories to vehicles other than Toyota models".I'll keep trying. There are some interesting after market racks but I was hoping for a factory.
Call your local junkyards.Or check on eBay, sometimes you have to be creative. If you find auctions for other parts that make it appear the seller is parting out your car, contact them and ask for what you want.

And when they ask what model, you give them a Bull answer like "Matrix xr" or something and install them yourself. If they're still dicks, ask to see the manager and ask him/her why the salesmen/parts guy doesn't want to make money or get a good referal!
I bought a Matrix roof rack on eBay from Frank Motors. It was $230 plus $18 shipping. It arrived today, and within an hour it was installed. It looks and fits great. I almost went the Pontiac accessory route but prefer the Toyota's flat black finish. It comes with clear instructions. You'll need a 10mm socket, 12mm socket, and a 0-50Nm torque wrench. My torque wrench starts at 33.4 Nm and I popped one of the threaded inserts, so use the recommended setting of 32Nm. I got lazy.

Tonebalone sent me an email with the information and I ordered the Matrix rack from Frank's Motors. I could not be happier. The directions were extrememly easy to follow and it took less than an hour to install. Here's a pix of my '09 Mystic Blue Vibe with the Matrix rack. (I had to convert it to a pdf file to be less than 2MB.)Many thanks to Tonebalone.
