Not overly sure who ran said light, but I heard the crunch in here! The street jabbering made it sound like the Matrix push the light a little too far. There was nobody in the back of the cop car.

exactly why I never jump into an intersection on green without looking both ways first, and why I always look the wrong way also on a one way street. Ya never know where from or how fast the idiot is coming. I once was sitting at a very large, light-controlled intersection (2 straight lanes, two left turn lanes and one right turn lane for each direction, controlled by arrows and solid lights) sitting at the red in the leftmost straight lane, a little ricer subaru had it at a solid 50mph and blew through the intersection well after the cross-traffic had begun. The driver breathed through, no brakes on ANY of the cars, and not a scratch on anything.

I avoid any situation where I don't have adequate braking or defensive maneuvering space.

I push yellow lights on a daily basis. Our roads here are not nearly capable of carrying the amount of cars it does in a day. Its crazy. Hope they were alright!Ugly Miata btw..

I always drive thinking I am surrounded by idiots that could change lane without notice, speed up on orange-->red light. We unfortunately see so many time people changing lane with no flasher on thinking they are alone on the road, or at the very last minute engaging themselves in an exit, or idiots taking the space you voluntarily leave in front of you as a potential safe distance for breaking...Its one of the first thing they teach in driving school, to anticipate and be aware for everyone around...

That driver's there were more aware and more courteous than most American driver's are.I guess the trend is everywhere now though. We are so used to having our personal vehicles that most of us just take driving for granted. And what's so ugly about that Miata? The color? I like BRG.My first MG had been repainted a horrible silver-blue when I bought the shell. After the bodywork, I had it restored back to the original color which was BRG... though an earlier, slightly lighter version than that car is.

I just think Miata's are one of the ugliest looking cars on the road, even the new ones. I guess about the only people I could see fit driving them would be middle aged women. I'll take a Z roadster, or solstice/sky any day over a Miata.

I'm also a motorcylce rider and drive like a ride -- with my head on a swivel. So far, 30 years without an accident.
