I became a dad!Congrats David from Ohio Now if you REALLY want to make history, plant another seed soon (you'll need your wife's permission) so you could give your daughter a sibling on 11-11-11 You got 10 months buddy .................. get busy On a more serious note, welcome to parenthood and be the best dad possible no matter what sacrifices you must make. You will be rewarded in the end
Congrats big time, David!! I'm sure you and your wife are excited. (Then comes the teen years and dating.... ) I take it from your positive post that everything turned out OK and that mother, and daughter are both OK and healthy? I've never been a father myself. Didn't even marry till I was in my mid 40's, so I have no personal experience...... Quote, originally posted by HawaiiPontiacLover »CONGRATS!!! hope you caught up on your sleep beforehand! She's great. her mom did just fine too. Both of them are at the hospital now, and I just came back to get some food-stuff cause hospital food is both junk and expensive, thought about updating my mini-vibe thread, but that can wait till tomorrow. I will have pics up tomorrow. All I have right now is naked pics, and when she becomes self-aware I don't think she'd like the fact that there is pornography of her on the internet. haha. It was a wonderful experience. My wife was a champ, but I cried the second she was born. I'm such a manly man.

Aww I didn't want to leave...good food and free cable TV in a private room where baby was with me at all times! it was as close as I'm ever gonna get to room service on a mini vacation hahaaa I Kaiser...my experience was amazing, including a midwife and them letting me have my birth the way I wanted (no meds) even though they got a tub shortly after my stay (which I predicted would happen) bah...I didn't need it anyway! BTW, a growth spurt is coming in just a few short weeks.
As the father of two wonderful daughters in their 40's, I know how proud you are. Seems like they were born just the other day. Time flies so quickly. As others have said, enjoy as much time as you can with her. Don't be above changing her diapers, either, as it has a magical way of bringing you closer to each other, although you probably won't realize it at the time. She will grow up and move away sooner than you realize. Love her with all you have all the time.

Quote, originally posted by BurnOnyx08 »Congrats! My boy is 7 weeks old now. So I was just where you are now. The Vibe looks pretty slick with a car seat in it, don't worry. Congrats! Yep, and the CENTER is the safest place for the car seat. Mine is ready for a stage 2 seat (GRRRR)
Yup, took me 3 hours, finally got the car seat in the middle, but it worked. The handle closes and mashes into the front seats though. It's the kind where you can pull the seat off a base and then just click it back into place. Got to bring her home today. She's been wonderful so far. She had a little jaundice, so they are looking into that at her appointment tomorrow. The yellow is starting to disapate though. She's 20 inches long, and weighs 5 lbs, 8oz. She's super little, but so is her mom, being only 5ft even, so it was expected. It makes her even cuter though.

Congrats! We just had our first in September and while the pregnancy was pretty easy overall, the hospital and doctors definitely went with the "everything we can do wrong and against your wishes we will" approach. I was borderline in tears before the actual birth (surgery) between 2 days of no sleep and everything going wrong. In the end however, we have a beautiful happy baby boy, and being on and off work since then (off again now) I get to spend lots of time with him. We get to bond over pooping, peeing, dripping, jetting, pooping, spraying, spitting up, leaking, drooling, and pooping. And I get to feed him the pumped bottles while Mom is at work which is great as well. The seat can go in the middle? I thought the manual only had instructions for the sides...any advice on centering it? I think I would prefer that over the sides. And here's a recent picture of Christopher, life is really different after a child, enjoy it!
Awwwwwwwwww... Congrats to you too, psiu! another cutie! and by the way, size has nothing to do with her being tiny...I'm small too, never got that big...never got that classic big prego belly, and still had a WHOPPER! Even the doctor thought she would be around 6 lbs LOL And yes, I went to a car seat inspection event and they showed me how to do it. Currently still using the Chicco keyfit (which I need to replace NOW) and it's easy...the (car's) seat belt locks into the base so it doesn't move around, through the car's seat belt CENTER strap.
What dating? I told her the day she was born that she wasn't allowed to date till she was married. Also I told her to never grow up and to stay little and cute forever.

Congrats! As a first time dad...I can truly say...Welcome to my world! That little girl will be your everything: Your pride, your joy, your frustrations, the keeper of your heart, the reason you wake up in the mornings, the reason you cry at sappy commercials, the reason your wallet feels light, the reason you go to work every day, the reason you come home, the reason you smile, the reason your heart skips a beat, the reason your hair turns grey, the reason feel warm on the coldest of nights, the reason you finally started eating healthier, the reason you laugh, the reason you dance in the rain, the reason your back hurts, the reason you opened up that savings account your wife has been nagging you about, the reason you have "Mac N Cheese" with dinner at least 5 times a week, the reason you became a NRA card holder, and the most amazing of all... She is the reason you exist!Hold on tight, you are in for the ride of your life!
