AC Valve Leaking Low Side

Post by deebiv »

2007 back on the road after storage for 2+ years, AC not cold, charged with an 18oz can, got up tp specified pressure on the included gage and cold air came back.

Upon disconnect noticed that the low side valve was leaking a bit, aside from replacing the the valve what is the best option? Has anyone used the tool to replace the valve while keeping the system charged, and if so which one?

Also, do valves or plugs exist to go over the existing port to seal it like this?

Here is the Temp fix, going to have the valve replaced or do myself shortly.

The line is sealed at the valve after the gauge, will obviously not hold long term.

You got the right idea. If you could find the correct size thread at Home Depot and just cap it off, with some teflon tape and your done
