Great advice! Thanks! Also, when you lose some coolant from doing this, doesn't air get in the line? How do I bleed that?zbyers wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:00 am There are hose pinch-off pliers that would work. Alternatively, the mounting bolts for the throttle body fit perfectly in the hose and stop it from leaking.

any air that gets in should work its way through the system and end up at the top of the radiator, and then theoretically that air would be replaced automatically from the coolant reservoir over various heat up and cool down cycles. No need to bleed.
much better than the advice I was going to give, which would have been something like an appropriately sized pencilzbyers wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:00 am There are hose pinch-off pliers that would work. Thanks for the advice! I'm thinking I'm going to clean the iacv while I'm at it. Maybe replace those garbage star screws with hex head bolts.ColonelPanic wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 2:08 pm First time I cleaned the throttle body, I didn't even use anything. Just angled the lines upward and kept a towel nearby.
Cleaned it again last week and jammed a vacuum line cap I had laying around into each hose. Got the caps at AutoZone, I think these were what I bought.
