Generator Electrical Connections

Post by MarkfromMich »

What is the trick to removing the electrical connections to the generator? One cable has a plastic cap on it which won't budge. The other connection looks like a typical electrical connector, but I'm having trouble removing that one as well. This is a 2006. Thanks!

The gray cap over the positive lead from the battery more or less just prys off with a flat screwdriver...I'd recommend doing so AFTER unhooking the battery.

As for the actual plug, you should be able to just squeeze it. I usually give it a little push in, like connecting it again, squeeze, pull. It may take some finagling if it's been on there for a while. Dirt and all that fun stuff like to give a little bit of a fight.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it another try when it cools down here.
