Wiring HELP with GM05B Harness and vibe 07

Post by Jammin81 »

Hello and needed some advice!! I have just bought an 07 Pontiac vibe and re-doing the stereo to a new off market stereo.

I’m at the last three wires and wanted to be certain before attempting the instal tomorrow.

I’m left with two ORANGE wires (which I’m almost sure don’t serve a purpose for this stereo)

One orange
One orange white

And the blue white cable coming from the harness (I’m assuming this is the 12v amp on wire)

The rest of the wires are set up and tested but not sure about the blue white wire and the remaining power antenna SOLID blue wire from the stereo.

I have an 07 vibe so sure it has a factory amp as standard and didn’t / wasn’t sure about connecting the SOLID BLUE “power antenna” wire to the WHITE BLUE amp on switch wire on the harness.

Any advice is appreciated. Try not to grill me..... I have wired anything since 98 and a VW Polo!

the blue and blue/wht wires are indeed the antenna and amp leads. Orange wires are usually parking lights and dimmer wires. If your radio has neither, I wouldn't worry about them.

Thanks fro the prompt reply! MUCH appreciated!

I'm not worried about the orange wires..... I was more curious about the WHITE/BLUE amp wire and then the solid blue "antenna power" wire. I have onstar but don't care about it working. I just found out the car comes with a factory amp under the seat and now concerned about making a mistake!

Essentially, so long as you match up the colors from the radio harness, to the adapter harness you bought, all should be well. if the radio doesn't have a color, and the adapter does, ignore it.
