no speedo, no gear change

So i recently had the car up on the lift at the shop. we were spinning the wheels and driveshaft to find the source of a vibration which was since solved.. the guy came down after and said he got up to 10 km/h when the speedometer went to 0. I didnt think much of it at the time, we fixed the vibration and when test driving afterwards, noticed it is not changing gears at all (automatic trans) and there is no speedometer activity. There were previously existing issues with one or more abs sensors. However when a simple cheap scan tool is connected, it does not register anything under VSS live data when the car is rolling down the road. It was registering here before all this happened.
So do we think this is the vss then? This is an awd 06 vibe and appears to use only the transmission position sensor on the top of the trans. The only dtc present is for a post cat 02 sensor and this scan tool cannot pull abs or C codes.

I would look for an output speed sensor on the transmission itself. Should be near the diff. It MAY run the speedo off the 4 WSS’ but I doubt it.

He didn’t happen to have the wheels spinning fairly quick on the lift and all of a sudden lock up the brakes did he?

Replaced vss, no change. There was an abs code for Ecu low voltage and it must have gone into a limp mode with no speedo and no transmission shifting. Cleared the abs code and problem solved. Code was C1241.

dodged a bullet on that one. clearing a code vs what might have been complex and expensive transmission repairs, that's good news
