2005 1zzFE P0016 cam/crank sensor correlation error

Post by CNYDave »

OK, 2005, 200,000 miles, runs and starts fine, idle is a little low.

I can't find a thread here where someone had had the problem then posted up the resolution.
Can anyone point to a happy ending to this tale?

I see possible causes as everything from dirty oil, computer that should have been recalled, timing jumped, bad VVT sensor, and something wrong in the system controlling the variable valve timing.

Car runs well enough this is really a non-issue except it won't pass inspection with a set code.

Also, looks like there are intake and exhaust cam sensors?

TIA
