2az-fe Engine Compatibility

Post by littleVibber »

Just wondering if there is anything I should know about trying to find a 2AZ-FE engine to put in a Vibe I'm picking up tomorrow. Its not clear to me if I can swap the timing cover or other parts off the engine I have currently on to a camry or matrix 2.4l engine to do this swap... is the ac compressor gm like on my 04' Base vibe? are there other connectors or parts that need to be swapped? Or do I simply need to find a Vibe 2.4l to go in this car?

Thanks for your help!

Your best bet is to remove your junk engine. Then pick up your replacement 2AZ and compare it to what you removed. Swap over anything that looks different and/or connects differently.

You should be able to remove the engine and leave the AC compressor in the vehicle without undo the lines and opening that system up.
