Reminds me of when we changed the transmission in my '81 Escort, and my father forgot the main seal. I was 20 miles away from home, and ended up revving the engine like CRAZY and going straight into 2nd from a dead stop.

ok first of all you need to excuse the condition of my OG shift knob.. (i get sweaty on the back roads ok!!) the boot fits just fine it has a little extra slack tho because of the short shifter. i have a crown royal bag over top of my leather boot is all. the only clearance issue is when i go to shift into 5th gear with my AC plug thing hooked up. i had this issue before with the factory shifter, but if i used a baseball grip when going to 5th my fingers could clear the small gap and i wouldnt destroy my knuckles on the edge of my phone charger(i usually do pistol grip because of the forward shifter position) however with the short shifter this is now impossible to avoid the knuckle grinder so i have to skip 5th gear when i have my phone charging or just use the DC plug. the AC one is nice tho because it can Turbo charge my phone.A Psycho Martyr wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 6:24 pm Did you have any trouble with the shifter knob hitting the dash?
