New’04 owner (late to the party!)

Post by Brotherdave »

Recently acquired an ‘04 Vibe in Arizona with 89k original miles, one owner, dealer serviced. My “new” car replaced a ‘96 Isuzu Oasis (Honda Odyssey twin). I guess I’m a just a sucker for old, rebadged, top Japanese makes.

I’ve already benefited from topics here on genVibe: Squeezed a couple of degrees out the a/c system by adjusting the temperature door cable as discussed in a thread here. Worth the price of admission for that tip alone. 😂

I have other some other questions I’ll post in the appropriate sections. Thanks to all the contributors here over the years - these types of forums are an invaluable resource.

Anyhow, here’s a picture of my new baby (my wife’s already getting jealous).

congrats on your find and buying from a private seller. Again, miles are pretty irrelevant when dealing with a Corolla engine. They are 200,000 mile proven engines. Your concern will be maintaining a nearly 18 year old car.

Thanks caretaker. Actually came from a dealer - only the second car I’ve ever purchased that way. And yeah, age can matter more than miles. This one just seemed right.

Looks like you got a good CLEAN vibe there! Seeing that it's from Arizona, it is likely rust free? We up here in the Midwest aren't so lucky when it comes to rusted vehicles. This Vibe should last you another ten years &then some. Thanks for joining up here with the rest of us :D

Yep, rust free. Not sure I’ll drive it 10 or more years, but good to know I could.

GREAT Find. I would LOVE to get a 2004 with that low of mileage. It was a very good year. I've had 4 different vibes and the 2004 was my favorite. Got wrecked by my daughter so

Actually would have preferred a later model, but this one was clean with low miles so I went for it. Glad to know 2004 is considered a good year. Sorry to hear about your ‘04. Kids: what can you do? Hope your daughter was ok though.
