Rrrrrrrrrracing Stripes!!!

Post by creekhed1 »

So I thought I would try my habd at Racing Stripes!

Turned out pretty Good... got them on the bay and total cost was about $40

There was a bit of a learning curve. Initially I was having one heck of a time getting stripes to line up. ... the beginning was no problemo but b y the time I got the the end it was off aligned,.. if you try this MAKE SURE you are careful to START THE Stripe EXACTLY correct and it will line up. This isnt an issue on smaller areas.
Once I got the hang of it it was simple.A few bubbles here and there but puncturing them allows you to eliminate that prob. After a few days most of it lays down perfectly with no bubbles etc.

I WISH I had a Vibe with BODY COLOR CLADDING.... then I could have had the stripes go ALL THE WAY... but this was "Beggars cant be choosers" striping!

Here's some pics...Enjoy!

Rrrrrrrreally Looks Excellent! nice work. :D
Are the stripe widths the same top and bottom? I once read that the stripes on the old Mustang fastbacks varied in width to avoid the optical illusion of inconsistent width! Wrap your mind around that.

Oh nice! I might be a bit biased but I like the style of stripes you chose :)

By the way the stripes come in 6 ft sections... and I suggest buying AT LEAST one extra piece in case... well... just IN CASE!

I figured I would need 5 pieces...so I bought 6!
Screwed up one of them putting it on and I am SO GLAD I had an extra!
