Opinion needed, brake color

Post by Derf »

Getting opinion for color of brake drum and calipers. Red, light blue, or other? Going on Neptune Blue Vibe. Pic shows enamel, but will get high temp paint.

Neither. Neptune is the *BEST* color. I would go for precious metals...24kt gold. Like goldschlager LOL

Personally, I think black is always the best color for any brake parts i.e. calipers, drums, etc. Unless you have huge aftermarket brakes, I don't see a need to "highlight" them by using bright colors. All 4 calipers and all 4 rotor centers on both our Vibes are painted black and I think it provides a nice clean, subtle look.

I say black as well. I think it looks weird when drums are painted a bright color, and especially a disc/drum combo.

I think painting calipers on a car that has 4 wheel disc brakes a bright color look pretty good.

Drums black & calipers blue. IMO drums dont really look good painted a bright color, makes it look cheap.

Re: Opinion needed, brake color, Black?

Thanks for the input. Black was the winner,.... but I had some high temp red paint... So black for front and red for the drum, with the the thought I can easily change to black next tire rotation, after the 4th of July, in the meantime its a Patriotic Pontiac; Red (drums), white (silver rims), and Neptune blue Vibe!

Cleaning all the wheels and getting rid of the caliper / rotor/ drum rust made the biggest improvement:
